Irina Talks to Galacticast At SXSW
March 19, 2007Irina Slutsky talks to Galacticast at SXSW about their niche fame in the vlogging world, and what they’re up at SXSW.
Can we talk?
March 19, 2007I can’t wait to go to the YouTube Awards and get dressed up and see the winners and have a party! Oh , wait….. Seriously though, the more the merrier!
When we originally made up the Vloggies, we sought to shed light on the best and brightest of the vlogosphere and back then it was hard for us to get into the gigantic YouTube community. I’m glad YouTube is going to recognize the hard work and talent of those who have been making great videos for a while now.
SXSW Lands Vloggies Show on Front Page
March 19, 2007I knew Vloggies Show crew rocked SXSW, but I had no idea our photos would end up on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Thanks to Seagate for our expo floor booth/studio, where — with Bill Streeter at the camera helm — I interviewed what felt like a gazillion people. The booth turned into a reverse press junket for me, with Internet builders and online video producers stopping by to chat with me about the past, the present and the future.
Of course, we talked to Vloggies uber-stars like Ask A Ninja and Galacticast (episode coming up), but also non-Internet guests — like an executive from Austin’s public access TV — who shed some light on what needs to happen with online video.
I’ll write more on this later, but if you have some footage in your handy-cam of SXSW (doesn’t matter which part of SXSW), we want you to upload it to the contest (use the red button) so you can win a HUGE GIGANTIC prize, one of which is two tickets to the Vloggies in LA!
